New York business professional elected to board of international trade association


(MINNEAPOLIS, March 21, 2016) New York business professional, Wanda Borges, was recently elected to the board of directors of the International Association of Commercial Collectors (IACC). The decision was made earlier this month when a vacancy became available on the board. Borges will serve the remainder of a previous board member’s term ending in 2017.

Borges was unanimously elected to the board by her new fellow board members. IACC President, Greg Cohen, said, “I am delighted to have Wanda join our esteemed board, her accomplishments and standing in the industry is extraordinary. As the premier commercial agency association in the industry, Wanda is well suited to help us achieve our strategic initiatives and carry our message forward.”

Borges is the principal member of Borges & Associates, LLC, a law firm based in Syosset, N.Y. She is also a long-time member of IACC heavily involved in various committees as well as often presenting for IACC on online seminars and during meetings. She is also a member and past president of the Commercial Law League of America and has been an attorney member of its National Board of Governors, a past chair of the Bankruptcy Section, a past member of the executive council of its Eastern Region and is the Vice-Chair of the executive council of the Creditors’ Rights Section. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Hispanic National Bar Association, the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation, the New York Institute of Credit and the Turnaround Management Association. She is a nationally recognized lecturer and author on various legal topics including Bankruptcy Issues, the Uniform Commercial Code, ECOA, FCRA, TCPA, FDCPA, antitrust law, credit card surcharge issues and compliance issues. Borges has also authored, edited and contributed to numerous publications.
