Marijuana Sees Largest Sales Tax Collection Growth In February Compared With 2018

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — February sales tax collections in the city of Steamboat Springs were up 5.8% compared with the same month in 2018, according to a report from the city.

The city’s collection of $2.69 million is its largest February collection to date.

Sales tax collections were up more than 8% in the marijuana, miscellaneous and utilities categories. Restaurants, lodging and grocery also saw increases in collections. Construction was the only category that saw a decrease in collections at 0.31%.
