Fraud and Scam Seminar set for Elders


More than 13 percent of older Americans become victims of financial fraud each year, but the U.S. Attorney’s Office wants to see that statistic decrease by bringing awareness to seniors in Western North Carolina. A seminar on investment fraud schemes targeting elderly investors will be held March 31 at the University of North Carolina Asheville to educate elder citizens about how they can avoid falling prey to schemers.
