Consumer Alert: Beware of Variations on IRS Impostor Scam


The deadline to file taxes arrives on April 18, and the IRS is warning taxpayers about variations on the long-running impostor scam call. Scammers impersonate the IRS or other federal agents, demand immediate payment of a non-existent debt, and threaten you with a lawsuit. The IRS says it will never call and demand immediate payment.
