CFI’s FDCPA Educational Grant Increased to $100,000!

Boca Raton, Florida – January 3, 2017 – Columbia Financial International, Inc. has announced it will double the amount of the Educational Grant it established in August 2014 from $50,000 to $100,000 in grants towards education in FDCPA regulations through its affiliation with FDCPA Certifications LLC. This grant program was established to aid collectors to become certified in FDCPA compliance.

As of December 2016 CFI reports that it has awarded all of the $50,000 in grants to collection attorneys & collection professionals seeking FDCPA compliance training through its partnership with FDCPA Certification LLC. Robert Pinchuck, president and owner of CFI announced Wednesday “Due to the overwhelming need for compliance in our industry we feel the necessity to continue awarding these grants to collection industry professionals that exhibit an interest in improving the level of compliance expertise in the field of retail collections.”

Mr. Pinchuck further stated “the retail collection industry continues to battle complaints and lawsuits claiming failure to comply with FDCPA. The grant program was established to improve access to the collection professional to the necessary compliance education that will lead this industry towards better economic growth.” Robert Pinchuck went on to say “We are very proud that through our Grant program over 1000 collection professionals have successfully taken the 4 hour online course and gained greater confidence in speaking with debtors. This confidence leads to a reduction in legal actions and an increase in collections either in full or by settlement.”

“CFI’s grant covers 50% of the cost of certification through its affiliation with FDCPA Certifications LLC. The online course is accessible at the convenience of the student and has been recognized by the Debt Buyers Association (DBA) as an Authorized Education Provider for the DBA Certification Program and accredited in 16 States for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) for attorneys.” Mr. Pinchuck added.
