| Explore, Discover,
and Connect at Debt Connection Symposium
and Expo 2009 in
Puerto Rico
, September 15th - 17th. |
2009 is a challenging year for all, budgets are
tight, and you need to spend your dollars
wisely. This
Symposium will address our challenges and how
industry leaders are meeting their goals, and
strategizing for the future.
We bring together industry leaders
in a quality educational format, with general
sessions, breakout round tables, great debates
on top industry topics, featured company
meetings and small group sessions.
Technology solutions will be addressed, with a
variety of innovative product offerings and
demonstrations for understanding the critical
role of technology in today’s environment. You'll
have access to the latest products and services
to help you collect, and to collect smarter!
But it’s not all about the tools, we still rely on
the productive collector on the phone,
encouraging the customer to pay your bill first.
John
Hart of GE Money will lead us through the best
way to motivate your collectors, and drive the
collection results you require. We’re
happy to bring back the Debating Duo of Jesse
Riddle and Manny Newburger, who will lead off
our Great Debate segment. Back
by popular demand, their session is definitely a
must attend event. Michael
Frye of BBVA Compass will provide Dialing
Strategies concepts in our Creditor Round Table
format, and there are many more creditor round
table topics/sessions.
Dan Cofall, of The Wall Street Shuffle and CNN
Radio, will lead off our event with his keynote
address “Nothing
is Certain but Debt and Taxes”
and other industry leaders will share their
thoughts about today’s collection and recovery
strategies.
Comprehensive sessions on a variety of topics
are planned, including: Arbitration,
Non-traditional Collections – Protecting the
Assets, Bankruptcy - Where It's Going - What it
Means, Work It - Place It - Sell It –
Solutions, Reviving Dormant Judgments, Vendor
Management – When Termination is the Right
Thing, Debt Settlement, Asset Locators and much
more. Watch
www.dcs2009.com as additional information is
posted there.
The Expo area promises to be the place to be -
with room for exhibits, sharing and networking. The
traditional DCS Speed Networking Opening will
again be conducted in the Exhibit Hall, at 5 pm
on Tuesday, September 15th. Meet
30 people in 30 minutes, and quickly determine
who you need to spend more time with. Meet
peers, meet vendors, meet the people you need to
know.
The traditional
Wednesday night special event is not a Black Tie
Charity Gala this year, but we pay tribute to
America's only tropical rain forest with our
Rainforest Festival and Poolside Dinner Event -
still a don't miss event, sponsored by
MasterFiles. The
El Yunque National Forest on the
island
of
Puerto Rico
is the only tropical rain forest in the U.S.
National Forest System. The forest's relatively
small 28, 000 acre size belies its importance.
It differs significantly from all the other U.S.
National Forests because of its year-round
tropical climate and immense biodiversity.
Our "A List" entertainment this
year comes direct from the industry, with our
very special DCS' You've Got Talent.
Our host, Rico Topazio, of Directv, and also our
very own DCS2006 Idol winner, is looking for
industry participants with some talent, who
would like to participate in our Talent
Challenge from 7:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
If you've got talent - if you can sing, dance,
juggle (not just your workload), make things
disappear, walk on stilts, do card tricks, or
have a group at the office who can harmonize, or
break dance, and would like to participate,
please let us know as soon as possible. We
may have to turn down some groups based on time
and availability, and talent.
If
you haven't yet registered for DCS2009, now is a
good opportunity to do so. We
have a pre-conference golf tournament planned
for Tuesday, September 15th, with a LexisNexis
sponsored Hole in One challenge, so plan to
arrive early and take part. Sign up now.
Puerto Rico, officially the
Commonwealth
of
Puerto Rico
, is a self-governing unincorporated territory
of the
United States
located in the northeastern
Caribbean
. (That means no passports for
U.S.
citizens.)
The town of
San Juan
is a wonderful historic town, with lots to see
and do, whether you're a history buff, a
shopping fanatic, or just want to enjoy some
local color. The
resort has a private island for guests, so if
you enjoy the water or the sand, be sure to
allow a day to enjoy the island. Snorkeling,
jet skis and a special kayaking tour of the
Bio
Bay
can all be part of the adventure.
And… right now,
Puerto Rico
is an excellent value, and DCS2009 has
negotiated a 5% discount off lowest available
fares from American Airlines. Act
now, and see great travel rates.
The discounted group hotel block ends
August 14th, so get in now for the
special group rates. Many
are planning to come early and stay late –
taking advantage of the best networking, team
building sessions and special small group
pre-and post-conference meetings, in a relaxed,
informal environment conducive to learning and
making the right connections.
Travel insurance is available - if you
have an interest, check the website at www.dcs2009.com.
We
have a strong line up speakers, great
participative round tables planned, and the
latest in technology to show off.
The people you meet, the ideas you share, the
solutions you see, will help you address the
challenges we all face today and in the coming
years.
Explore, Discover and Connect at Debt Connection
Symposium & Expo 2009, produced by Dennis
and Judy Hammond. We really look forward
to seeing you there, and a great event.
